SUSTAINABILITY CENTRE  The Centre is spread across 55 acres of woodland and natural chalk downland. The Sustainability Centre aims to educate, enable and inspire people from all walks of life to make positive changes to the way they live and work. Also, the home of the wonderful South Downs Green Fair. A very special place.

THE JELLYROLLERS  Good time blues, foot-tapping tunes and grooves. The Jellys play an eclectic range of songs spanning the years, but all timeless. Alleycats compere, Trev, plays harmonica, percussion and occasional mandolin/mandola with them.

JOHN THE HAT  Our very own, er, well, John the Hat! If you need a great sound engineer, have a look. John is affordable and very easy to work with. Most groups think of him as a member of the band.

BARKING SPIDER  The good folk behind The Southsea Folk and Roots Festival (below), plus many other great events and gigs in Portsmouth. John Roberts (Mr. Spider himself) is passionate about live music, as are the team who help to make it all happen. John is a promoter, manages several fabulous acts and an active supporter of the cider industry.

SOUTHSEA FOLK & ROOTS FESTIVAL  A fantastic annual event that compacts the very best music into a long weekend. Almost an insitution now, and long may it contiue. Make sure you support the event that supports live music in Portsmouth.

KING ROLLO  King Rollo is a captivating and accomplished performer. With four decades of live experience, his exceptional talent as a guitarist and sublime vocal technique are only matched by his songwriting ability.
In other words, pretty damn good!

RICHARD ANSELL  An old friend and amazing pianist. Plays keyboards in a number of line-ups and also teaches piano. Shame he's all the way over in Kent. Go buy the Blues Academy album - fantastic.

DELLA PERRETT'S SWEETEDGE  Unconventional, haunting, sophisticated and uplifting are just a few of the words that have been used to describe Della Perrett’s powerful voice. She is joined by her husband James Perrett on percussion and Matt Tween on bass. A fabulous band.

STREET LEVEL (No website) 139, Albert Road (near the traffic lights), Southsea PO5 2SQ - tel: 023 92 877800  Musical Instrument Sales and Repairs. Excellent, compact shop run by Barry, a musician himself. Always very helpful and makes great tea.

ANDY BROAD  Portsmouth's vey own 'King of the Blues'. If you're local to the area, or not, you should have come across Andy. Great player and very active on the local scene. Plays in loads of bands (including the one below), so best to look at his site to find out more.

WALKER BROAD  Excellent musical collaboration between Andy Broad (above) and Sandy Walker.

VIOLET SKY   Great guitar and sublime vocals are the hallmarks of this Portsmouth based acoustic duo. Kev & Pip are passionate about music, and it shows. Violet Sky are very welcome regulars at Alleycats.

Fossy7   Website of harmonica player Chris Fosbrook, offering you a choice of harmonicas for beginners right through to professional players. There's a lot of other services and pages of interest too.

Daz 'n' Chave   The original Chas & Dave Tribute Band, based in Portsmouth, Hampshire. Daz 'n' Chave Tribute Band have been endorsed by Chas and Dave themselves!

PHEONIX PLAYERS  The Phoenix Players have put on some first class productions. Support them by going to see their productions, or even get involved.

FAIRPORT CONVENTION  The official website of this seminal and highly influencial folk-rock band. Great band and hosts of the Cropredy Festival - the reason there's no Alleycats on the 2nd Sunday of the Month.
